Wrapsthetic: Redefining Prosthetics Through Personal Style

For decades, prosthetics have largely been viewed through a medical lens — designed to restore function, but rarely designed to reflect personality. Wrapsthetic is changing that conversation.

Founded by Bernadette Hagans and Carson Doyle, Wrapsthetic helps amputees transform their prosthetic limbs into powerful expressions of identity, creativity and confidence. Based in Northern Ireland and shipping worldwide, Wrapsthetic was born from a simple yet transformative idea: what if a prosthetic could be personalised in the same way we personalise our clothes, homes or accessories?

Lived Experience

For Bernadette, the idea was deeply personal. After losing her leg to cancer at just 22 she made the conscious decision not to hide her prosthetic, but to embrace it. Her journey of self-acceptance led her to become a trailblazer in disability representation, becoming the first amputee to walk at London Fashion Week, appearing on the cover of Elle Bulgaria, and using her platform to challenge perceptions of disability.

When she approached creative director Carson Doyle with the idea of wrapping her prosthetic leg, neither could have predicted the impact it would have. What began as a one-off design project quickly became something much bigger. The transformation wasn't simply visual — it changed how Bernadette felt. A prosthetic that once felt clinical became something personal. Something expressive. Something uniquely hers.

Recognising that others deserved the same opportunity, Bernadette and Carson created Wrapsthetic.

Without limits

Today, the brand offers easy-to-apply prosthetic wrap kits designed for people of all ages. Available in a growing range of eye-catching designs, each kit uses durable, high-performance materials and includes everything needed to apply the wrap at home, supported by step-by-step tutorials and guidance.

At Never Grey, we often talk about the importance of products that combine functionality with individuality. Wrapsthetic embodies exactly that philosophy. It doesn't change what a prosthetic does, it changes how people feel about wearing one.

Their range is extensive; bright and bold designs for wheelchair cover that encompass patriotism with the American Flag and the Union Jack and designs with butterflies, flames, gingham and leopard print. There are plain colourful covers and designs with camouflage, paws, musical notes, pastels and poppies. This wide range is not limited to wheelchair covers.

Wrapsthetic also offers mini kits and coloured and metallic prosthetic wraps that can be applied at home and in-store help for customers in Northern Ireland. In a world where disability is too often associated with conformity and invisibility, Wrapsthetic offers something different: choice.

Because people with disabilities should have a choice and be able to express themselves. Mobility aids, prosthetics and assistive devices don't have to be hidden, they can be celebrated.
