Wear Matter

Adaptive clothing for your capsule wardrobe.

Wear Matter written in a combination of handwritten font and stylish uppercase font, in navy blue on a white background.

Who they are

Founder Gemma McAllister had over 10 years experience in the fashion industry focusing on design and buying roles for well known high street brands before shifting to a career in disability services due to the lack of inclusivity and accessibility in the fashion industry.

Gemma was a self-employed nail technician in Northern Ireland when she moved to London to work in the fashion industry as a designer after studying at Ulster University and after working in the fashion industry. With a passion to create things for a reason, Gemma left a toxic environment which lacked creativity to become a disability advisor, embracing my passion for wanting to help others. With disability and inclusive fashion options on her mind, Gemma launched WearMatter and recently secured a £10,000 Techstart grant.

What they sell

WearMatter bridges the gap between fashion and accessibility, catering to individuals with disabilities who often face challenges in finding clothing that meets their needs while also reflecting their personal style.
