Zipped Shoes believe that putting on a pair of shoes should be an effortless part of your daily routine, accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. They understand that for individuals with disabilities, this simple task can become a significant challenge. 

Their mission is to redefine the shoe-wearing experience by offering modifications to popular mainstream and designer footwear, making them easier to put on and take off. 

But not just any shoes, they take any shoe you love - whether it’s from Nike, Adidas, or Converse - and integrate a custom zip fastening that maintains the shoe's original look while enhancing its accessibility. 

Born from Necessity 

Inspired by Aaron, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Zipped was born out of a desire for style without the struggle. Aaron wanted to wear the same trendy shoes as his friends and this led him to partner with Oliver and Angel at Shoeman with Angel's Custom Creations. 

Together, they developed an innovative solution that discreetly integrates zippers into existing shoe designs, allowing for a fully open design while keeping the aesthetic intact. Too often, Aaron faced the frustration of going without shoes because traditional options were challenging to manage. He recognized this wasn't just his experience, but one shared by many. 

Zipped comes to the rescue, ensuring that no one has to settle for “special” shoes as their handcrafted zippers offer a seamless integration so that you can confidently wear the footwear you love, fully equipped for any occasion. 

How it works

Fill in their short contact form with a photo attached of the shoes you would like customised and Zipped will reply to let you know if it is possible and you take it from there. They add zips to most trainer brands and even convert Doc Martin boots. 

Funding for the future

Zipped also provide an option to fund shoes for others in need through our unique grant program, giving everyone a chance to enjoy our modifications. They also feature charming accessories that can be added to your shoelaces, allowing you to express your unique personality and fashion sense.
