Dyslexia, autism and other neurodivergent conditions can make reading an uphill struggle. Even a book with a interesting story and characters can feel static and impossible to grasp, so imagine if those pages could come alive, inviting young readers to step into a realm where stories are not just read, but fully experienced. This is the innovative vision of MIXD Reality, a company dedicated to transforming children’s literature and educational materials into interactive augmented reality (AR) experiences that leap off the page. 

Inspired by her amazing son, Walter, who is autistic, founder Pamela launched Just Like Me Books to champion diversity and representation in children's literature. Together with Husband Alex they created the world’s first AR children's book featuring an autistic mixed-heritage protagonist, inviting young readers to dive into stories that come alive in a magical, immersive way.

How it works

Using a QR code you can see if your selected book 'glows', press on a picture and begin your immersive reading experience! The book will appear on a screen with a moving animation of the picture to was the reader through the story.
