Hearoes
This family run business offers colourful designs so children and adults to dress up their hearing device.
When your world is silent be loud
This independent, family-run business in the UK was born from a deeply personal experience. Marc and Carly Duffield created Hearoes after the birth of their second son who received a diagnosis of profound deafness, like his brother. With a vision to celebrate and personalise hearing equipment for their two sons, Marc and Carly launched Hearoes on 2019.
Their logo shows a child superhero flying with a cape and a cochlear implant and this perfectly encapsulates what Hearoes does. It celebrates each unique child who is d/Deaf and makes them a superhero!
A chance for children
Dedicated to inspiring children to embrace their devices as part of their unique identities, their vibrant skins and accessories for hearing devices allows children to express their personality and interests. Their kids range covers everything you can think of, from football, gaming or the iconic Despicable Me Minion characters to camouflage, horses, butterflies and much more. Their adult range has bright and beautiful plain colours to colour coordinate for work or going out and their classic gold marble is sophisticated and stylish.
Gone are the days when hearing aids and cochlear implants are merely functional grey plastic to encase an everyday disability aid. Today, they can be adorned in various colours and designs, empowering children and adults to see their devices not just as tools, but as personal companions on their daily adventures.
At-Home Application
Hearoes are designed for easy application you can do at home, there is no need to send your hearing device in and be without it for weeks. With step by step instructions you can clean the device and apply the custom-made skins yourself and their accessories include colourful cables and tubes and there is no end to the possibilities due to their affordable prices.
Alongside their product offerings, Hearoes is working on an educational venture aims to make the process of 'learning to listen' enjoyable and engaging for children, reinforcing the belief that with the right support, every child can thrive.
Building a Community
The parent founders also run a blog, www.mybionicboys.co.uk, which serves as a supportive community for families affected by hearing loss.
Their commitment to sharing personal stories and practical advice has resonated widely, even catching the attention of major media outlets like the BBC. Hearoes was featured as they made a wish come true for 10 year old Milly - to get her cochlear implant branded with stickers of her favourite football club, AFC Portchester.
Milllie is profoundly deaf but is passionate about football and plays for the club's U12s Pearls girls team. She now considers her colourful device a "lucky charm," a testament to the joy that a simple sticker can bring.
Hearoes is more than just a retail store; it’s a supportive community fostering confidence and creativity. Families can explore a collection of items that not only enhance the functionality of hearing devices but also resonate with the personality of each child. Join the Hearoes family and discover how hearing accessories can inspire pride and joy in children, allowing them to shine brightly in their own unique way.
