Walking sticks with personality

I’ve needed to use a walking stick for 5 years and at first I really hated my mobility aid. The NHS issued grey sticks and these felt so clinical and also something more suited for the older generation.

Aged 37, having to go out with what I perceived as something for the elderly was really hard. It made me feel so self-conscious when people stared as I learnt to walk again. I searched online and got a couple more sticks from Amazon but still I didn’t feel completely comfortable with those either.

I then discovered Neo Walk and I instantly loved them and got a few different designs. All of them turned heads too, but this time for the right reasons. I got so many compliments every day. Although I think they are quite heavy, they are incredibly sturdy so you feel stable, comfortable and more confident.

I also discovered another brand of custom sticks, Glamsticks and although prices are similar to Neo Walk, the carbon fibre sticks mean they are super lightweight. Ideal for me when I only have the use of one hand and need a stick with a bracelet. To have found these brands have been an absolute game changer for me. I can custom my sticks to suit my mood and outfit, no different as many women do with shoes and accessories.
