Can you tell me a little about yourself and who Glamsticks are?

I'm Lady Sharon Farley-Mason, I became disabled following an operation I had to have when I had a horse riding accident, the accident was 1999 good Friday of that year and the operation was in 2010 and it didn't go to plan and I was left on crutches for the rest of my life, I had 2 very young boys in 1999 to look after as well as the horse a husband & a household to look after.

What year did you start Glamsticks and what made you start in mobility aids?

Glamsticks was started in 2009 by a woman in her front room, I bought the company in 2012 and Glamsticks since then has grown and gone international and even been sent to Hong Kong, I believe in Glamsticks so much as making people with disabilities happy young & older is what makes it all worth while.

What products do you offer?

The products I offer are walking sticks, some with Carbon fiber, these can be decorated or plain, crutches, open cuff & closed cuffs, wheel chair covers, you can pick the design there's also visual aid canes, these come in what size and tip you need.

What's your most popular product?

The most popular product I would say in walking sticks is the adjustable walking stick that has whichever colour you choose, crutches seem to be "Diamonds are".

Your designs are so detailed, how long do they take you?

All the designs can take some time, because I have illnesses and disabilities. I do ask that clients allow me 28 days to make their items. 

How do you go from an initial idea from a customer to the final product?

With bespoke designs when a client either sends me a rough and I do mean "rough' drawing to a discussion I can start to make it in my mind, don't get me wrong some things are impossible to fit on a stick or a crutch so I can't do, but I do try my best to give it a go before I say yes or no.
