Building Never Grey one partnership at a time

Written by Kaye Moors
When Never Grey launched, the goal was simple: shine a spotlight on the innovators creating products and services that make life more accessible, personal, and empowering.
Today, we're proud to have featured 100 brands. That's 100 businesses challenging assumptions, finding real-world solutions and proving that accessibility and great design belong together.
This milestone is important because it's about the stories behind the brands, the people they support, and the communities they are helping to build. So that’s 100 companies that are working to make life easier for people with disabilities and neurodivergence. That’s 100 business that are striving to find opportunities for those who are often overlooked.
Our Showcase is our Shop Window
Over the past year, Never Grey has featured brands working across a wide range of sectors, including:
-
Adaptive clothing and footwear
-
Wearable technology
-
Accessible accessories
-
Mobility aids
-
Fidget tools and sensory aids
-
Braille products
-
Inclusive beauty and makeup
And that's just the beginning.
What connects these brands isn't simply the products they create. It's the belief that people should not have to adapt themselves to fit products. Products should adapt to people.
Whether it's a jacket designed to work with a wheelchair, technology that supports independent living, makeup tools designed for people with limited dexterity, or sensory products that help regulate overwhelming environments, every brand featured by Never Grey is helping to remove barriers that many people encounter every day.
The Power of Lived Experience
One thing we've noticed time and time again is that the most impactful innovations often begin with a personal story. Many of the founders we have profiled didn't set out to create a business, they set out to solve a problem.
Some were inspired by their own lived experience, others were supporting a child, partner, parent, friend, or family member and realised there were gaps in the market that weren't being addressed.
Many co-design directly with disabled people and neurodivergent communities, ensuring products are shaped by those who understand the challenges firsthand.
This motivation creates a level of insight that cannot be replicated through market research alone. It transforms accessibility from a feature into a foundation. We now feature ten Meet the Founder blogs that share the spark of an idea that turned into an opportunity for the disabled and neurodivergent community.
Growing a Platform for Change
As Never Grey has grown, so has its audience.
What began as a platform to share stories and products has evolved into a growing community interested in disability innovation, inclusive design, adaptive fashion, assistive technology, and accessibility.
With every brand profile, social post, article, and conversation, we've seen increasing engagement from people who recognise that inclusive design is not a niche topic.
It affects everyone. At some point in our lives, many of us will experience disability, injury, illness, ageing, or changes in our physical or cognitive abilities. From pregnancy when you struggle to tie your shoes or need to be operating one handed as in the other arm you;re carrying a child to a loss of sight or vision as we age. The brands we feature aren't creating products for ‘other people’, they're creating products for everyone.
The Story Behind Never Grey
At the heart of Never Grey is founder Kaye Moors who had her first stroke at 37 and quickly realised that most rehabilitation services were designed with much older patients in mind. While the care was invaluable, many of the activities and approaches felt disconnected from who she was as a younger person rebuilding my life.
It was remarkable how easily individuality can be lost in rehabilitation. Kaye wasn't being seen as Kaye. As she recovered she was being treated like every other stroke patient, regardless of age, interests, or personality.
“I noticed the same issue with many of the products available to disabled people. Mobility aids, orthotics, and accessible footwear often prioritised function but overlooked style, making people feel older or less like themselves.”
Her disability changed how she move through the world, but it didn't change who she was, who she still is. I still wanted clothing, footwear, and accessories that reflected my personality, whether that was a stylish walking stick for a special occasion or footwear that worked with my orthotic without compromising on appearance.
That's why I created Never Grey—a platform celebrating brands that prove accessible products can be functional, beautiful, and full of personality. Because disability doesn't take away your identity, and adaptive should never mean dull.
Today, she continues to challenge expectations every day. Using one arm and an orthotic, she climbs, swims, and boxes while advocating for greater visibility and inclusion across business, sport, design, and society.
That lived experience has shaped Never Grey from the beginning. It has informed the questions we ask, the brands we feature, and the stories we choose to tell.
Reaching 100 featured brands is an exciting milestone, but it feels less like a finish line and more like the start of something bigger.
There are still countless founders, products, and innovations waiting to be discovered.
To every founder, designer, creator, advocate, and community member who has been part of the journey so far: thank you.
Here's to the next 100 brands. Because when innovation is inclusive, nobody gets left behind.
