Schuh
Shoes and clothing with inclusivity in mind.
Who they are
As a brand committed to making fashion accessible and inclusive for everyone, Schuh recently announced a new buying option for a more inclusive shopping experience. From Friday, 30th August 2024 customers can make single-shoe purchases, allowing those who require only one shoe, due to a limb difference or disability, to buy just that – one shoe, at 50% off the price of a pair.
This single-shoe initiative is a reflection of the commitment to disability equality Schuh have. An accessibility audit was conducted across all channels and there have been two new neurodiverse hires via the Disability Confident Employe Scheme. Accessibility is a key part of who they are as a brand.
Now 10% of their e-commerce product imagery features disabled models or models with visible differences and their promise extends to their social media content as they aim to make this more accessible with image descriptions and subtitles. There is also Schuh Social Stories, a resource for adults and kids designed specifically with the autistic community in mind to help customers know what to expect from an in-store shopping experience.
They also offer quiet hours in certain stores to make their hopping experience as welcoming as possible for everyone.
What they sell
With a large range of brands for men, women and children, you can buy shoes, clothing and accessories. Sale prices start around £5 and they have club membership discounts.
